Greetings All – We’d like to remind you about the date and venue for our AGM in November and to give you an update on what’s been happening
Pension increase approval – October payment
The Trustees of the RTÉ Superannuation Scheme have announced that a 4.0% Pension Increase has been approved for pensions in payment with effect from 1st January 2024. This follows increases of 4% at 1st January 2023 and 2.5% at 1st January 2022.
It is planned that the increases and any back-dated payments will be implemented in the October 2024 payment.

Membership of RTÉRSA
Do you have friends who are retirees from the Defined Benefit Scheme who would like to join the RTÉ Retired Staff Association (RTÉRSA)?
If they would like to join, please get them to send a note to pensions@rte.ie and to rtersa2018@gmail.com with the following details:
- Personnel Number
- Name
- Postal Address
- Email address
Joanne Mc Donnell will arrange for a deduction of €1 per month from your pension for membership (the deduction will be marked RTEPENASS on your pension payslip).
When you send your information to RTÉRSA it is managed on our behalf by a company who specialise in bulk emailing and postage in the strictest GDPR (General Regulation on Personal Data Protection) manner. Emailing our occasional newsletters is a much more cost-effective solution than post.
Please note that as the RTÉRSA is a separate organisation to the RTÉSA, there is no sharing of personal information, so you must contact us directly and let us know if you wish your contact details to be included on our database.
Power of Attorney
It’s been brought to our attention that the guidelines on Power of Attorney have been changed recently and we thought it would be useful to bring this to our members attention.
An enduring power of attorney (EPA) is a legal device that can be set up by a person to allow another person to look after their financial or personal affairs, in the event that they no longer have the capacity to do so themselves.
The Citizens Information Board are just one of the bodies that provide information on this topic.
